Had an evening meal here with a group of friends mid week. Staff were very welcoming and were great with chaos of several orders at once. Good atmosphere and food service speed was about right. When it arrived it was excellent, full of flavour and you don't go hungry. Leave room for puddings and the Raspberry and pistachio Eton mess was something special. Would definitely go back.

Visited here for a pint or two on a sunny Sunday afternoon after going to the nearby Stansted Raceway. A selection of Clarkson's Hawkstone brews on offer, seating outside in very pleasant surroundings.

We visited one hot Saturday afternoon for a bite to eat. There was ample parking in the car park. There were a few people sitting outside but we wanted to sit indoors. There was a table free and we were served quite quickly with drinks. While waiting for our good, the resident cat passed through. My niece was able to go and stroke it without any concern. The food arrived. The portions were big! The food was hot and cooked as ordered. There was a nice selection of dishes on the menu, and desserts. The atmosphere was relaxed and enjoyable. Will definitely have a return visit.

Great village pub. Free House, good real ales. Well-run, very friendly. Good food and garden too. A lovely warm fire in the winter, and plenty of seats outside for the summer. Car parking too. (But note: not open Mon & Tues)

Lovely pub, great food and atmosphere. Proper old British country pub serving good beers and Sunday roast. Slightly expensive but well worth it for quality of food.
